Information: The name Møre og Romsdal was created in 1936. The first element is referring to the two regions of Sunnmøre, the last element is the name of the region Romsdal. The county has many populated islands and is intersected by several deep fjords. *[Wikipedia]
Perhaps no county in Norway has more impressive mountains than Møre og Romsdal. The Sunnmøre Alps and the Romsdal mountain range are at definitely near the top of the scenic list. Trollveggen is known to every rock climber in the world. You can experience a sought-after cruise on the famous Geirangerfjord, from Hellesylt to Geiranger, for the mere price of a normal ferry ticket. The famous Geirangerfjord does not start at the sea. It is really an arm of a greater fjord system which starts south of Ålesund, and gradually narrows as it winds its way inland, the mountains on both sides rising ever higher. One of the most dramatic stretches of road is the Atlantic Road between Molde and Kristiansund.Link: Explore Fjord Norway
